Building Our Crew

RG and I started to ask people to be in our wedding party over the weekend. It's so fun! Although I have always felt like bridesmaids & groomsmen and all those "roles" are pretty arbitrary and just serve to create more things to coordinate, now that we're planning.... it's not so arbitrary anymore!

*Note: I've recently begun using the word "arbitrary" after this scene in Portlandia.

On Saturday, RG and I asked Andreina to be our Senior Flower Girl. We (think) we invented this position and I think it is awesome. It is the perfect way to have Andreina be a part of our day and also be hilariously adorable while doing so. We have two sweet baby girls in our lives who will serve as flower girls, so we thought Andreina could escort them down the aisle. It's going to be the cutest thing to ever happen. We love Andreina so much!

Yesterday, I asked Taylor to be my Maid of Honor. We went to Chipotle and, since I got there before her, I asked the cashier if she would hide the box I was giving Taylor and then hand it to her when Taylor was
paying for her food. She did, and Taylor said "of course!" Taylor and I met in April of 2009 when we were both Facebook stalking TX State Class of 2013 pages to find a roommate that wasn't planning on drinking or partying through freshman year. I'd already found a roommate -- shoutout to Michelle Rohmer, a.k.a. roomsteroni -- but we messaged over that summer about the Harry Potter movie premiere, what we were allowed to bring to our dorms, and move-in information. Our dorm buildings were next door to each other, we went on Bobcat Awakening 29 together, and we made a lot of trips to the small HEB to "buy crap." The rest is history! Love that girl.
"Taylor loves you to death, but not in
a 'smother-you-with-a-pillow' kind
of way." -Taylor's mom, Jeanne

Getting so excited for everything!

Also, one of RG's mom's 4-year-old preschoolers (who is just the cutest) said this morning, "Ryan and Sarah are going to get married. And then have babies." Then when I went downstairs to visit the preschoolers she said, "Congratulations. What dress will you wear?" Too precious.
